Butter Burgers

Bon Apetit magazine has made quite an impression on our household this month. Mark found a recipe for Grilled Burgers with Meyer Lemon Butter and decided he would make them for our dinner. Well, imagine my surprise when my blog about Feeding Mark has turning into feeding Thea! There is nothing better than coming home from work to dinner on the table and yes I did the dishes.

Father's Day Left-overs

Sometimes leftovers are the best thing ever! Often when we BBQ steaks if we have more than we think will be eaten, we will leave a couple steaks very rare so we can reheat them later without killing them altogether. With the leftover steak and grilled pepper mix we made Huevo's Ranchers. It was delicious! Just wanted to share the pic, but basically I grilled a tortilla and covered it with chopped up left over caveman steak, grilled pepper mix, salsa and topped it with shredded cheese, an egg and a little salsa!

Father's Day Weekend and caveman cooking

Caveman Porterhouse with <span class=

If I had my way, I would grill each and every meal. Whether it were fish or flesh, tofu or vegetables. Nothing beats a nicely charred steak still raw in the middle while perfectly seasoned and caramelized on the outside. Yumm....

Not unlike many celebrating Father's Day weekend, we had a cook out trying out a new recipe found in this month's Bon Appetit magazine called the Caveman Porterhouse with Poblano Fry. We opted out of the "caveman" cooking style because we couldn't find the correct type of hardwood briquet's in little ole Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. However we would love to try out another time.

My guy, being the BBQ extraordinaire, (and he really is) suffered a casualty when he burned his eyelashes, eyebrows and the
front of his hair as he lifted the lid of the grill only to be greeted with a huge burst of flames.
It was funny only after it was clear that a little fringed hair was the only damage done.
